It's nutritious, auspicious, and nothing says fun like WATERMELON in the summer time.  The world famous Luling Watermelon Thump is always held the last Thursday-Sunday in June in downtown Luling, Texas.

The Annual Rajun’ Cajun Throwdown Gumbo Cookoff is held the second weekend in March.  Award categories are Bloody Mary, Jambalaya, Open (any food with a Cajun twist), Showmanship, and, of course, Gumbo.   Great Cajun music and food!
